A little about me...
I’m Dunya, born in DC, raised as a Marylander by two parents from opposite ends of the world. As someone who often belonged nowhere in particular, I’ve come to realize I am someone who belongs everywhere. Capturing feelings of hope and revolt, otherness and sameness.
The drawings flowed out as time passed, face painted, and clothes tweaked, but it wasn’t until late 2024 that I entered a path of full artistic exploration. Since then I have been working with watercolor, charcoal, and
old makeup. My focus as of late has been exploring different emotional states, how certain places raise them, and who walks those planes.
When browsing my pieces you will find a nice melange of abstract works and objective studies. I strive to put forth raw and personal depictions that ultrapass a fully sterile objectivity.
